About the instructor
Current Position: Consultant Geophysical Advisor at Rock Stress Solutions LLC and to Islay Subsurface USA LLC.
Jack is a geophysicist with a strong technical background in pore pressure & geomechanics, 3D velocity modeling, and seismic rock properties/QI, obtained through plus 35 years of working with both Oil & Gas Operators and Geophysical Technology Companies. He has a proven track record in applying geopressure technology, through collaborative geoscience and engineering workflows, to mitigate drilling risks and improve well safety. He has extensive experience in the Gulf of Mexico, West Texas Permian Basin, Atlantic Margins, Eastern Mediterranean and North Malay Basin, both in predrill planning and real-time well operations. He has held senior technical and geoscience management positions at Viridien (formerly Veritas DGC), Devon Energy Corp., Noble Energy Inc. and Hess Corp. He established his own consulting business, Rock Stress Solutions LLC, in 2020, and currently acts as a geophysical advisor to Islay Subsurface LLC.
